Bio: Dr. Gemma Boyd is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New Jersey and New York. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Marywood University, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). She completed her doctoral internship at Rutgers Health Services, Counseling, ADAP, and Psychiatric Services (CAPS). Prior to joining CAPS, she worked as a Staff Psychologist for Drew University, and a Psychologist for The New York City Police Department. Dr. Boyd’s approach to counseling is integrative, where she aims to provide a safe, accepting, and supportive space for every client by focusing on a culturally informed approach to counseling, which includes being an ally for our LGBTQ+ community. As a certified Cognitive Processing Therapy provider, she is also trained in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Boyd’s clinical interests include: post-traumatic stress, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life/role transition issues.
