I recently attempted to make a blood
donation but was rejected due to low iron. The nurse suggested taking iron
supplements. Are iron pills safe to take and in what amount? Or is it better to
try to increase my iron level through diet? Thanks.

I had a Total Gastrectomy 8 years ago, 2 years ago I was told I had Osteoporosis. I am concerned that due to the lack of absorption that I may not be getting the right vitamins in my diet. I take calcium, and have Pamidronate infusion every 6 weeks to try and get calcium to stay in the body, I take Folic Acid and iron but are there other vitamins and minerals I should also be taking?

General Questions About Food
After being bored with drinking the same combos of beverages,
I tried a few new ones...definitely not a good idea...my stomach totally
didn't agree. For example, I drank, skim milk, then some lemonade, and then
some apple juice, and some milk and lemonade again. However, I also wanted
to be sure that I was getting enough calcium..so drank a glass of milk as
well. Can you suggest some different healthy beverage combos that won't
upset the stomach...(from among those available at our dining halls) Thank
you!
I normally make my own vegetable soup. It looks and tastes
lo-cal & lo-fat, but it have any nutritional value?

Is it possible to be allergic to a specific type of food all of a sudden? I've been having issues that whatever I eat doesn't agree with me. I have no appetite anymore because I'm afraid to eat. Is there anything I can do to go back to eating on a regular basis without my stomach continuing to act up?

My ears ring all the time I heard it is from lack of iron. Is this true and what are the symptoms of anemia.
I have a major doubt and i would be much greatful if you could answer this. It is common for us indians to have curd/buttermilk rice. It is also a practice among some of us to mix curd/buttermilk and milk together to reduce the sourness of the curd/buttermilk. But quiet a few people say that curd and milk should not be had together. Could you please clarify as to whether there is any scientific reason in it or can milk and curd be had together. I appreciate the time you took to read this.
