With the supervision and direct support of the Director of Health Education,
this student will arrange exhibits and tabling sessions for the Department of
Health Education. Consistent with the department vision of student empowerment,
this student will be considered a student staff member of the Department of
Health Education, and thus afforded the rights, responsibilities, and privileges
which accompany such a title.
As the Department of Health Education Exhibit Coordinator, this student will:
- Revise the exhibit manual that provides ideas and information to student
staff and staff coordinators and create a process for assuring the quality
of exhibit experiences;
- Identify outreach and exhibit opportunities at the different colleges
(i.e. student centers, recreation centers, and dining halls);
- Create new exhibits as needed through consultation with health advocates
and staff coordinators and evaluate as needed;
- Consult with Department of Health Education staff regarding tabling events
where exhibits will be needed;
- Coordinate exhibits for these events;
- Attend these events to set up exhibits or supervise other students doing
the actual tabling;
- Collaborate with the Brochure Coordinator and Materials Assistant to
obtain exhibit brochures, materials, and supplies;
- Develop a system for record keeping and evaluation.
All applicants must be Rutgers University students available to work 5 to 10
hours per week. Applicants should possess the ability to work independently and
the ability to express themselves in a clear and concise manner. Experience with
e-mail and word processing is encouraged but not required.
