With the supervision and direct support of the topic-specific coordinator, this
student will schedule programs and assist the coordinator with organization and
facilitation of meetings. Consistent with the department values of student
empowerment and prevention, this student will be considered a student staff
member of the Department of Health Education, and thus afforded the rights,
responsibilities, and privileges which accompany such a title.
As the Department of Health Education Program Scheduler, this student will:
- Maintain a system of communication with preceptors and other campus
personnel who request programs;
- Maintain records of program requests, attendance, and participant
satisfaction;
- Assist in the training of student educators;
- Coordinate the scheduling and advertising of programs and events;
- Assume the role of student spokesperson to all entities that work in
conjunction with an advocate group;
- Provide office support, including answering telephones, photocopying, and
computer input.
All applicants must be Rutgers University students available to work
approximately 5 to 10 hours per week. Applicants must be well-organized, possess
the ability to work independently, and must be able to express themselves in a
clear and concise manner. Experience with e-mail, word processing (particularly
the ability to make charts), and Microsoft Access is encouraged but not
required.
