Bio: Katen Moore went back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner after 15 years of being a professional musician. I have worked with people with cancer with chemotherapy and radiation, with home-bound veterans, anticoagulation, and student health at another university before coming to Rutgers. I love to help people learn how to navigate the American health system and learn how to be their best advocates in terms of their health and well-being. I wrote a book, Living Well with Cancer with Libby Schmais, MFA, MLS. I have done primary research on pain management and opioid use, chemotherapy during radiation treatment, nurses and grief. On the side, I curl at Plainfield Curling Club and believe EVERYONE should try curling! If anyone wants to learn about this growing sport, feel free to contact me.
