Credentials and Accreditation

Accreditation

Rutgers Student Health (RSH) is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).  AAAHC accreditation means that we participate in ongoing self-evaluation, peer review, and education to continuously improve our care and services.  RSH/NB also commits to a thorough on-site survey by AAAHC surveyors at least every three years.  (AAAHC is a nationally recognized accrediting body; visit their website)

Provider Qualifications/Credentialing

Our providers come to us with a wide range of training, expertise, and personal and professional experiences. They all undergo a formal process of appointment to the RSH staff, as well as a thorough credentialing process that establishes the providers’ backgrounds and competence through verification of their current licensure, relevant education, training, experience, clinical and ethical performance, and good health.

The Providers at RSH consist of board-certified physicians (Family, Pediatrics, and Emergency; advanced practice nurses, who are registered nurses with graduate education/training and who are certified in Family Medicine, Psychiatry, or Women’s Health; Physician Assistants; social workers and psychologists; licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselors; certified health education specialists; a registered dietician and an athletic trainer.
