Dr. Aalia Saleem is a biracial Latina and South Asian ciswoman raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is currently a Counseling Psychologist at CAPS. She first completed a B.S. in Psychology at Brooklyn College and received an M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Chestnut Hill College. She then received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) with a concentration in Psychological Assessment from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Dr. Saleem has experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient, intensive outpatient, community mental health, and college/university counseling centers. She prioritizes taking a holistic person-centered, multicultural, and trauma-informed lens with the individuals she works with as they navigate life stressors and self-exploration. She believes we are all human first and cares deeply about relationships and community. During Dr. Saleem's free time, you can find her redecorating a room, working on small creative projects, reading a good book, or spending time with her family, friends, and her dog.
