Dr. Aalia Saleem is a biracial Latina and South Asian ciswoman, raised in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Saleem is currently a Post-Doctoral Clinician at Rutgers CAPS. She first completed a B.S. in Psychology at Brooklyn College and received an M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Chestnut Hill College. She then received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Dr. Saleem has experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient, intensive outpatient, community mental health, and college/university counseling centers. She is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion work. She prioritizes taking a holistic person-centered, multicultural, and trauma-informed lens with the individuals she works with as they navigate life stressors and self-exploration. She believes we are all human first and cares deeply about relationships and community. During Dr. Saleem's free time, you can find her redecorating a room, working on small creative projects, reading a good book, or spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
