Jamie Michel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of post-grad experience in education, healthcare, research, private practice, and community-based settings—with higher education being her favorite placement yet. Jamie obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from The College of New Jersey and her Master’s in Social Work from University of Pennsylvania Social Policy and Practice (SP2) as a first generation student. Growing up in the United States as a daughter of Haitian immigrants, she understands the unique strengths and challenges of living within two distinct cultures. Jamie believes that we all deserve a safe space where we feel seen, heard, and understood. Her therapeutic style is warm, nonjudgmental, culturally humble, strengths-based, and collaborative. She is dedicated to empowering students to begin the process of overcoming the obstacles that are holding them back from living the life they want to live. Jamie is passionate about creating an environment that fosters community and sense of belonging for students.
