Julissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. She has been in the field for 18 years. She has worked in private non for profit agencies delivering services to at risk youth and marginalized populations. Prior to arriving at CAPS she worked in community mental health center delivering individual, family and group therapy to a largely bilingual population with chronic mental concerns and limited socioeconomic resources. While at CAPS she has provided both individual therapy and group therapy, clinical case management to high risk/high complexity students, served as member of triage team and set-up referral platform Welltrack- Connect. Julissa serves on the Behavioral Health Subcommittee for Visions and Pathways a non-for-profit for runaway youth.Julissa is passionate about working with and supporting first gen students and marginalized populations.
Clinical Interests: Depression, anxiety, immigration and acculturation issues, adjustment disorders.
