Dominique Paz (she/her/ella) is a Community Based Counselor and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work at Rutgers University—New Brunswick. During her undergraduate and graduate experiences, she immersed herself in the community, forming valuable connections with her peers and bringing awareness of and supporting vital social justice issues. She utilizes a client-centered and trauma-informed approach in her practice, which her strong background has influenced in working with survivors of trauma, focusing on community violence, sexual assault, and domestic/interpersonal violence. Dominique continues to advocate for mental health accessibility for marginalized urban communities and prioritizes providing mental health resources, emphasizing intersectional race dynamics. She believes empathy and compassion are fundamental to human connection and vital in assisting others on their healing journeys.
