Mental Health Trainings Fall 2022

Mental Health First Aid  

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8 hour training — which focuses on the unique experiences and needs of college students — gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care and resources.  Free, and open to students, faculty, and staff members. There are two learning options:

VIRTUAL: First Aiders will complete a 1-hour, self-paced online course, and then participate in a 7-hour, Instructor-led video conference.

IN PERSON: First Aiders will participate in a 8-hour, in-person, Instructor-led class.

Campus Connect Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training

This training aims to increase knowledge about statistics, risk & protective factors, warning signs, and campus resources. Open to students, faculty and staff members. All classes will  be held at the College Avenue Student Center, room 411 ABC.
