Samantha Brooks, M.S. is a Doctoral Psychology Intern here at Rutgers CAPS. Samantha is a Jewish woman and was raised on Long Island, New York. She completed her BA in Psychology at the University of Rochester and is completing her graduate training at Long Island University. Samantha earned her nonterminal master's degree in 2022 and is enroute to earn her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in 2025. Samantha has experience working in a variety of settings including other college counseling centers, community-based clinics, and inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient facilities of medical hospitals. Her approach to treatment is an integrative perspective that incorporates principles from cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic modalities. She is also well versed in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Samantha serves on the DBT Consultation Team and the Eating Disorders Treatment Team at CAPS and is part of the Integrated Care Team at Hurtado Health Center. Special interests include high risk clients, eating disorders, health psychology, and interpersonal and relational issues.
